on the way to Japan

The Train compartment Number 7 will be our room for the next two nights again.
After we left Ulan Bator, the Train made his way thru the endless wilderness of Mongolia to the Gobi desert.
We are passing Gears and Horses along the Way. The blue Sky and the clouds seem to be endless. The Mongolian Landscape passes by like in a movie.

Ulan Bator, two days ago…
When we arrived at the train station, our Backpacks were put in the trunk of an old rusty taxi. The taxi driver offered us a cheap ride to our destination.
The Tereldsch National park a few miles outside of UB.
After a few stops at some “famous” landmarks and a few pictures later we continued our trip.
The life in the countryside is different. Everyone seems to be happy, seems to smile…after a horseback ride including a gorgeous Sunset we went back to our Ger.
The time seems to stand still out here. A Long time ago, when Genghis Khan and his troops reigned over the land felt suddenly very close.

Back in the City was totally the opposite. Smog, noise, everything seems to be under construction. Tall buildings were built, shopping malls, Hotels…after Mongolia took the red flag of communism down and changed to a democratic state a lot of things changed.
Too fast is the economy growing.
The slogan “Big History, Big Future” seems to take control over Mongolia.
But what really will the future bring?
It lies in the hands of the youth. A lot of Students, who studied overseas coming back to Mongolia now and try to make a change for good.
“Thanks to our friend Hulan, for letting us be a part of the Mongolian culture.”
Hulan means “Bright Horse” and Mongolia needs a lot of them…
